Privacy policy

MenuLaunches is operated by Tastewise. This page explains what we collect and why.

What we collect

Browsing MenuLaunches requires no account and no personal information. If you create a free account we collect the email address and phone number you provide, and optionally your company name, together with the date of your consent and the wording you agreed to.

We store a one-way, salted hash of your IP address for abuse prevention. We never store the raw address. If no salt is configured, nothing is stored at all.

How we use it

To give you access to gated features, and — because you consented at signup — so that Tastewise may contact you about its food and beverage intelligence platform. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send.

Sharing

Contact details are stored in Tastewise's CRM. When you sign up we also record the signup, with your email address and company, in Mixpanel, the product analytics service we use to understand how the tracker is used. We do not sell your information or share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Cookies

We set a signed cookie to remember that you have an account. That one is necessary for the site to work and is always set.

We also use Google Tag Manager to load Google analytics and advertising services, which measure how the tracker is used and how people find it, and which may show you Tastewise ads elsewhere. Those services are loaded with storage denied by default: no analytics or advertising cookies are set, and no advertising identifiers are used, unless you press Accept on the cookie banner. The same Accept also turns on Mixpanel in your browser, which then records the pages you view and the features you open on this site, with an approximate location (city and country) that Mixpanel works out from your IP address. If you sign up, that activity in this browser, including later visits, is linked to your signup record. Until you accept, Mixpanel's code is not even downloaded to your browser: nothing is sent to it and nothing is stored. Pressing Decline keeps all of them off. Your choice is stored in this browser.

You can change or withdraw it at any time: Cookie choices in the footer of every page turns analytics and advertising storage back off straight away and brings the banner back, so withdrawing is one click, like accepting was. It leaves your account and your sign-in untouched.
